Back early….kinda
Well, we went to Utah this weekend for a family reunion. We were also going to visit Jon’s niece Shauntae but she was sick and then her boys got sick and we’ve been kinda having digestion problems, so instead of going up to see them today we came home. (This way we have a day to recoup since Jon only has Monday off.) It’s nearly 11pm. We left Provo 12:30ish and didn’t get home until 10pm. There is a huge forest fire around the Beaver and Filmore area near I-15, will right on I-15, so we had a huge detour that took forever. It’s still nice to be home. We shared a hotel room with my parents last night and I realized how much they both snore. Of course my mother blames my father and my father blames my mother. All I know is if I wake up and they’re snoring it’s hard to get back to sleep. It was still very nice of them to let us crash with them since Shauntae was sick. ๐
I’m really bummed that we weren’t able to see Shauntae’s family, but I am happy to be home. Details will come later with a few pictures.รย Jon took pictures at the reunion and the ones I took were of the forest fire.

I’m so sad that ya’ll couldn’t come up to visit! It is good for you though, because Matthew and Austin both have full-blown head colds today, and Ethan was up all night throwing up. I’m really glad we were able to spare you guys this misery. ๐
I felt really sad, Ethan and Austin asked me when my cousins were coming about 3 times. I had to keep explaining that ya’ll weren’t coming since we were sick. ๐
Apparently we also missed a wedding down in Delta, Lewis and Tess’s daughter Meagan. We didn’t get an invite, and I guess my dad assumed we had, so he never said anything about it. Oh well, we couldn’t of made it with our miserable lot of sufferers anyway. The ironic thing is, Meagan was a fire jumper for the National Park Services for multiple years, and she got married on the weekend of one of the largest forest fires on record, how’s that!
Our beautiful valley is filled with the haze from the fires, even though the closest one is hours away. We also have strange smells going on here because of the smoke and ash. So weird.

I’m glad we didn’t come up and get sick. We were going to try to stop by the wedding but it would have been kinda strange to show up in travel clothes at the wedding or Sunday clothes at the reunion. Plus we left late and just wanted to get to Tooele. (We didn’t get an invite either, but we saw Mom and Dad’s, or Grandma and Grandpa to you.)

My mom also drove home from Salt Lake yesterday. It took her FOREVER! She was also afraid she wasn’t going the right way at one point. I’m sorry you guys had to go through that too!!!
