What takes….
What takes 3 days and 8 hours to create?
The best home made Finding Nemo Pinata ever! I think it’s the best anyways.
It took 2 days to do two layers of papier mache. The first taking about 1 1/2 hours and the second taking 1 hour, each with 24 hours to dry.
Then I also had to make the fins, which took about 30 minutes to cut out and figure a way to attach to the balloon covered in papier mache. (Painters tape works well, not plastic packing tape.)
I spent about 4 hours decorating it.
This is one of those times being a perfectionist is not good.
And I could have bought this one for $10 on sale at Target, but why spend $10 to break something if you have yourself and time to kill.รย (Really I was just being cheap.)
My aching back is telling me the moral of the story is $10 on sale or even $12 full price is so worth it for a pinata.

I think your pinata looks better, but that doesn’t make up for how much time it takes!

Will you cry when they break into it?

{bowing to the floor} I’m not worthy! I’m not worthy! You are the Queen Highness of Craftiness. I’m seriously amazed.

It’s funny ’cause I kinda like the store bought one better, but Jon likes mine, even if it’s missing the top fin and only has two stripes.
I realize I also did my math wrong. It took 7 hours according to what I wrote, but I will admit I think it took me more like 5 hours to decorate it, of course I’m slow and steady rather than fast and messy.
I may cry, but the look on Lilah’s face this morning when Jon showed her was worth it even if she was critical and saying newspaper was showing and that the pinata she makes will be better. ๐
I’m really not that crafty. Nemo was a relatively easy pinata because I could use a balloon as his body and just add everything else. I’m sure you could make a beautiful pinata also.

That is way cute. I like yours much better than the Target one but I don’t think I could deal with the mess and be crafty enough to make one so I’d probably be one to buy one. I’m sorry we can’t make it to the party. It’s just the only saturday my husband is not going to be gone on an adventure (only because he is taking the venture scouts on a full week trip on monday) So saturday is going to probably be us finishing panting ang grouting our new bathroom and maybe a movie ๐
We do have something for Lilah though and will drop it off friday, or monday. Have fun you crafty woman! I can’t wait to see pics of the party!

Much cuter than the target one. And I think it has a lot more character.
