… Is Lilah teaching the world her many wisdoms!

The first is How to Make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich.

The second video are clips of what she did before, during, and after teaching the world how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Lately she’s been asking a lot of questions about how the people are in the TV. If they’re real or if what she’s watching is really happening, opposed to acting I think. She asks about the cartoons she watches and how the get there.
After watching a cooking show she got the idea that she should give the world the idea of making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, so yesterday we made the video of her making the sandwich.

I think she’s so cute, and does a wonderful job. I also love all the knowledge she has in her young mind. The second video really shows her little mind at work.

Eden’s video

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

So, I actually forgot to make Eden’s video for her birthday. (I think it was lost in my mind somewhere.) So, today I made the video celebrating her first three years of life, though half of it is pictures from her first year. (She was such a a cute baby.)

Since I’ve made a few of these some of the pictures will be duplicates, but what can you say, if it’s a cute picture it’s a cute picture.
And the song is the same one I used for Lilah’s, but I love it too much and have not found another song that I like better.

Eden watched the video twice tonight and enjoyed it. I’m just happy she’s young enough to not care that it’s a little late.

I’ll post events and pictures from the birthday celebrations later.

Videos

Friday, June 20th, 2008

I’ve figured out a way to get Google video to work so now I have the four videos I’ve wanted to post for your viewing pleasure.

The first is the piรฑata hitting– order of the kids: Lilah, Britta, Aurora, Eden, Aaron, Isaak, Katy, Howie, Adrienne and Howie again.ร‚ย  Side note: At the end Eden is the child under the table and she always laughs about being under the table.

The second is the of singing Happy Birthday to Lilah.

The third is of Lilah kicking around the pool and other people in the pool.

The fourth is the video I made to celebrate Lilah’s birthday.

A little late

In April we went up to Utah for my cousins wedding.

Here’s when we saw Zarina before the wedding.

The girls love her and had so much fun rubbing her head, holding her hands, letting her touch them and touch their soft dresses.
It was too cute and that is why I have a lot of pictures from it and a video.

I love the last two because of Lilah’s smile and then in the last one you, or at least I, can tell that Eden has a smile on her face.

Here’s how cousins interact when one’s a baby and the other two love her.

Butterfly release

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

So I would post this video with my caterpillar pictures, but I still need to edit some of them and this was just too fun today.

We had read a book on the life stages of caterpillars from a little girl’s perspective who had a caterpillar in her class. Towards the end of the book she had taken the butterfly out of the jar while it was on her finger and then it flew away. Lilah had mentioned doing this, but I wasn’t sure how the whole release thing would go so I warned her that they may just fly away without going on her hand first.

She was so happy to be able to hold the butterfly before it was released. It actually makes me a little teary eyed now to watch the video and hear her talk about the experience.

I love being a mom.

Easter 2008

Friday the 21st.

The girls loved dying eggs at Grandma Harvey’s house. Unfortunately I was the only one there so I only got the following two pictures.

Eden patiently waiting to begin dying eggs.

I was patient and let Lilah handle getting eggs out of the cups.

After dying eggs we were off to Aunt Carolyn’s work for their Easter Party.

They decorated cupcakes and made bunny ears plus had an egg hunt.

Sunday the 23rd- Easter Morning

I had the gate up so the girls would come into our room to get us up and so I could get pictures.

Coming out Easter morning.

Yes that is Eden’s hair sticking up in the back. I think she could be a who from Dr. Suess.

What they saw. (Hello Kitty was my accidental theme.)

Here’s a short video of their reactions.

Jon took some pictures before church, but while they were watching TV.

They turned and gave him the same smile at the exact moment.

Let the fun begin!

(Please ignore the messy backyard in the following pictures and video.)

I told them they could find 8 eggs each, in which I had miss counted and they could find 9 eggs each.

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Harvey’s for another egg hunt with some of the cousins and to have dinner.

Transition

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

Jon made this video of Eden and me with the two pictures.

He’s pretty strange like that, and he worked so hard, though he said it was snap, and it only took him about 2 hours of interrupted time for dinner and taking care of girls while I ran an errand.

Funny Mormon.

A while back I heard a funny/sad story on This American Life told by Elna Baker. (It’s in act three at the very bottom if you want the summary.)
Just recently my friend Sam sent me this video of the author.

Warning: It’s funny, but it does use the word vagina, but not in a dirty way, so if you have children in the room and you don’t want them repeating the word vagina, use your headphones or try to wait until bedtime.

6 years

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

Our sixth year anniversary is this Saturday.
I can’t believe how the time passes.

My friend Elizabeth made a video for her husbands birthday and it inspired me to do this for our anniversary, especially since Jon told me to be cheap for his present.

Well, I was cheap and I created this to remind you of the fun we’ve had Sweetie!

The song is one I love, Dixie Chicks Easy Silence, even though some of the lyrics don’t go with an anniversary video, but it makes me happy to sing along with it and it reminds me of my husband and our relationship.

I’m not one for withholding surprises so I’ve posted it early, in which I’ve been asking if I could show him the surprise since Monday!

I was also worried that two little girls might spill the beans. I told Lilah it was a surprise and Eden nothing, cause she’s two, and at dinner when Jon came home Monday Eden started saying how you and mommy got married and then Lilah said it was a surprise.

I now know that I must keep it from them if I want nothing said, but for Lilah’s credit she didn’t say anything detailed.

I love you dear!

Things Eden does.

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

With my recent post about Lilah I thought I’d write about Eden.

One things she’s up to is being a monster. She loves to growl and eat people. She’s also eaten the grocery list, her clean diapers, and on Sunday she ate play dough.
Yummy.
Hot pink play dough always hits the spot.

Luckily play dough is non toxic, I think, and I’m pretty sure she just had a mouthful and I had her spit it out.

Another thing Eden does is come up and spank you and says “spank spank”, or she’ll pound her head into your butt. Lilah also loves to spank people too, but she doesn’t do the butt head butting. Eden also tries to pinch your butt, but it’s more a tickle. (I pinch and spank their bottoms teasingly.)

Eden also asks “Are you OK?” if she hears a loud noise. Like you drop something. “Are you OK?” or if you run into a wall. “Are you OK?”
She’s very thoughtful. To the point that she annoys Lilah with her “Are you OK?”‘s.

So there’s a little about Eden and a video of her animal noises.
